Our Understanding	Our expertise is diverse, encompassing electro-acoustic and audio-visual system design, room acoustic engineering, and a thorough understanding of the relationships between court users and the systems and environment. Each team member is internationally recognized in their field of expertise. The principals of ICE Design have been presenting papers on the provision of integrated courtroom environments for many years through such forums as the AIJA, and the Court of the Future project at Canberra University. The team understands the interactions between the technology and its acoustical environment, and has the expertise to achieve outstanding results. We have a proven track record, reflected by the ready acceptance by users of our designs.
Innovative design and consulting tools	Amongst our design tools is the ability to generate, through computer modeling, acoustic simulations (auralisations) and visualisations of the courtroom space. The auralisations take into account the audio system design and the effects of the acoustics on the sound system performance. For the first time the client is able to experience the interactions between the technology and environment, and is empowered to make informed decisions.
The ICE Design Process	We have a proven design process for courtrooms which is continually being refined. In summary the process involves: a first principles approach to design based on mathematics, thorough testing of core components, and listening skills, ongoing research and development in speech intelligibility, loudspeaker design and acoustic modeling actively influencing manufacturers’ products to suit the courtroom environment a comprehensive, detailed and hands-on commissioning process to optimise the installed system When the conventional is not enough we have the skills and experience in loudspeaker design and signal processing to develop custom solutions.
Risk Mitigation	Courtrooms are complex spaces that present a unique set of challenges and unforeseen risks for the delivery of satisfactory sound quality and intelligibility for sound reinforcement, conferencing and recording. There is only one opportunity to get the process and end result right.
